Peruvian Waldorf Doll Alessa

Product Description

This doll is hand made from 100% natural materials with clothing made from alpaca wool. The dolls are stuffed with pure wool.
The doll is made in a small women’s project based in Andahuaylillas, a small village south of Cusco, Peru. It was set up to provide fair paid employment for women from impoverished backgrounds working in their local area.

The project has the long term goal of handing the running of the project over to the women involved. Since it’s inception in 2000 the project has grown steadily and as well as making dolls now works cleaning wool, carding, spinning, dyeing, knitting and weaving.
