Wood is preferable for toys for children for a number of reasons:Wood is a regenerative resource. It stimulates the child's senses with its texture and variations in colour. Wood smells good and has its own temperature. Bacteria cannot reproduce on wood. When wooden toys break they can be fixed. And lastly, wood is recyclable. The range of traditional, natural wooden toys from Myriad Natural Toys - including our amber teething necklace - are finished with a natural oil mix, not varnish, so that children can safely enjoy the satisfying qualities of wood.

Baby's Amber Teething Necklace
It is said that the natural body warmth of the baby slowly releases essential oils from the amber, soothing and calming the baby. Amber not only soothes teething pain, it has also been used to help with eczema and allergies. Warm, honey-coloured amber beads, each one individually knotted on strong thread. The amber beads have not been pressed or re-constituted. Amber screw-fitting clasp (metal-free). Will also fit older children. We have a new improved necklace design with smooth round amber pieces which comes with a lovely drawstring linen bag.
