The pentatonic scale has five notes, DEGAB, and however you play the notes it always sound harmonious. Pentatonic instruments lend themselves easily to free flowing, unstructured music, so well suited to young children. Together, parent and child can enjoy listening and making music.

Our pentatonic lyres are very special instruments which parents can begin to use from babyhood, making up their own tunes for bedtime, for example. As the children grow, they can be shown how to carefully pluck the strings and make their own music.
